A German organization based in India manufacturing various components for the shipping, compressor and earthmoving industry were wanted to rehabilitate the existing floor in the Rubber department.

The existing granular epoxy floor was worn out, breaking at joints and was becoming hard to clean. The overall bond strength of the floor was checked and it was decided that the existing floor be top coated during a shut down of 4 days with suitable treatment of the construction joints and transitions of concrete to epoxy and metal plates to epoxy surface.

SV Bond SLF 936 CS was selected for the work.

Joints were raked out and cut on either side and repaired by resin rich epoxy free flowing grout and allowed to cure. The epoxy surface was thoroughly sanded to remove surface contaminants and gloss until a sand paper finish was achieved. The dried grout was also sanded to match the levels of the existing epoxy to avoid visible protrusions in the refinished floor.

SV Bond SLF 936 CS was applied at 2mm thickness after priming the prepared surface and allowed to cure for 24 hours prior to being put to use.
